For those of you who do not know of Nikola Tesla read this article

Done? Ok. Well the author of the article, Matthew Inman, has started a funding program so as to help save Nikola Tesla’s laboratory and turn it into a science museum! Why do we need to save this land? Because, 1, of it’s historical and technological significance and 2, because

[t]here is currently another offer on the table from someone who wants to purchase the property potentially tear it down or turn it into a retail establishment.

Please help save this piece of land for science, the good of mankind, and for the unrecognized Nikola Tesla.

So here I am, enjoying my retirement.

Ups, I’m late

You’re related to Nikola Tesla? Cool! How??

Sorry, for the late reply. :) Well, I’m one of his cousins 100 times (kidding, I think it’s seven times removed - the geneology tree is huge) removed from my father side. Obviously the genes are completely watered down in my case, but I like to think my dad had some of his genius in him. :)

‘On general principles the raising of cattle as a means of providing food is objectionable. It is certainly preferable to raise vegetables, and I think, therefore, that vegetarianism is a commendable departure from the established barbarian habit. That we can subsist on plant food and perform our work even to advantage is not a theory but a well-demonstrated fact. Many races living almost exclusively on vegetables are of superior physique and strength. There is no doubt that some plant food, such as oatmeal, is more economical than meat, and superior to it in regard to both mechanical and mental performance. Such food, moreover, taxes our digestive organs decidedly less, and in making us more contented and sociable, produces an amount of good difficult to estimate. In view of these facts every effort should be made to stop the wanton, cruel slaughter of animals, which must be destructive to our morals.’
Another ardent vegetarian, the great inventor, physicist and engineer Nikola Tesla (1856-1943), regarding the physical and moral benefits of vegetarianism. (via misanthropic-philanthropist)

Master of Lightning 2000

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was one of the most fascinating scientists of the 20th century. He invented, developed or imagined the technology that brought us electricity, remote control, neon and florescent lighting, radio transmission and much more… all the basic inventions that now connect the world with power and information.

Marconi is a good fellow. Let him continue. He is using seventeen of my patents.

The Hidden ScienceNikola Tesla, the widely under-recognized inventor of the early 20th century once stated in regards to the scientists of his time, “The present is theirs. The future… is mine.” Despite owning hundreds of patents worldwide and most notably being the inventor of AC power, radio, laser, x-ray, particle beam weaponry, wireless electricity, microwave technology, electronic robotics, to name a few, Tesla’s greatest discovery was suppressed. This discovery was the breakthrough realization that within the earth and sky existed a natural, inextinguishable energy that could be harnessed to provide the world with free electricity. The Tesla coil demonstrated free energy as an inducer of electricity that occurred naturally throughout the earth’s atmosphere and ground. Tesla’s understanding of energy arises from a basic idea behind the arts and sciences- as these disciplines exist to explain existing universal laws, the most profound truths will often come from the discovery of what already exists rather than an invention. When asked where the power came from to power his 1931 Pierce-Arrow battery operated car, Tesla replied, “From the ethers all around us.” Even at its minimum temperature at absolute zero, our air has so much stored energy within it that it is only a matter of building a device to extract heat energy from the air- which is the same heat energy from the sun.Despite having proven that access to clean energy could easily be made available to everyone, Tesla’s discoveries were tragically undermined for obvious reasons- that profits cannot be made from giving free access. Tesla was subsequently labeled as a “mad scientist” for his “fringe” ideology, although many of his patents from the 20th century are only now being replicated in the 21st century. But there is one thing that we can bid confidence in, and that is the natural progression of life, because as history has shown, truth can only be suppressed for so long before it is due its course in the light.
